Rock it offers three junior development squads:
Pocket Rockits – You’ve got to start somewhere!
Level One is to help foster young climbers who may be new to the sport and like to participate in a group environment.
Level Two is a more advanced group who are expected to be climbing at higher-than-average levels. Climbers are not required to progress from L1 but places are limited and team members are chosen through application and assessment. Young people who are taking climbing more seriously with a desire to compete and develop themselves to their full potential are suited for this group. Rock it climbing intends to offer various forms of sponsorship for teams and individuals representing Tasmania interstate.
|Junior development – three levels||Cost|
for our youngest and newer climbers, this group will meet for weekly coaching sessions (parents are welcome, but not required). This a great, social way to enter the sport, learn skills and burn off some energy. Our committed coaches are experienced climbers who have come through similar programs themselves. Climbers are not expected to compete in events, but if they choose to, this is a good way to develop both physically and mentally. The program does not incorporate training, as the older categories do, as we really wish for children to enjoy the sport and have lot’s of fun!

|Level 1 Junior Development Squad
For our mid-level and newer climbers, this group will meet for weekly coaching sessions. This a great, social way to enter the sport, learn skills, burn off some energy, but mostly to have a bit of exercise and really have fun. This is our most popular age group and classes tend to fill quickly. Climbers are not expected to compete in events, but if they choose to, this is a good way to develop both physically and mentally. Expect to discover life-long friendships along the way!
|$250/Per school term|
|Level 2 Junior Development Squad
For our more advanced climbers, this group is usually a continuation from Level 1. Members meet for weekly coaching sessions but are also expected to participate in regular workouts in their own time. Climbers will be offered a structured training program. This group suits junior climbers who are also interested in local, state-wide and national competitions in disciplines for lead, speed and bouldering although there is no obligation to compete.
